STUDY 2022

On the occasion of the 14th edition of the Arcs Film Festival, the Lab Femmes de Cinéma publishes and presents the update of its annual study on the place of women directors in Europe.
This new study was carried out by the Lab with the support of its founding sponsor, the Sisley d’Ornano Foundation, and in partnership with the French Ministry of Culture, STUDIOCANAL and the Collectif 50/50. This 2022 update focuses on an exclusively qualitative approach, analysing the parity policies in the audiovisual sector implemented in the 36 countries covered by the study. This 2022 edition marks the second year of partnership with the European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO), whose figures on the position of women directors in Europe are included throughout the study.

We also collaborated with the European Film Agency Directors Association (EFAD) who both put us in touch with the National Agencies of all its member countries, took the time to proofread this study and will disseminate it to their members.
