THE LAB STUDY

One of the Lab’s main features is its European dimension, with the annual production of a study on the position of women directors in Europe.

Published for the first time in 2016 as part of the Arcs Film Festival, the Lab’s study is updated every year and aims to track in real time developments in the policies and measures put in place by the various European Film Centers to move the lines and promote more parity and gender diversity in the sector. It’s a European overview as well as collection of best practices.

Round tables

Every year, The Lab produces a qualitative study on the place of women directors in Europe. We interview European Film Centers and present the measures taken by different countries to promote greater parity in the film industry.

This interactive map presents the measures and policies put in place in the various European countries: like our study, it is an inventory and collection of best practices on a European scale.

As part of the annual publication of our study, we take part in and co-organize round tables with various European film organizations. You can find footage of these fascinating exchanges on our website.
